Our Limitation on Actions against Appraisers Bill (HB24-1085) has passed the full House with a final vote of 46 yes, 18 no, and 1 absence following the bill's third reading. Next, it heads to the Senate. The first half of its legislative process is complete, in large part due to the valuable input provided by appraiser advocates. Thank you for your continued engagement, and if you would like to continue to track this bill’s progress you can do so here.

Today was the day for testimony at the Colorado Capital for the Limitation on Actions against Appraisers Bill (HB24-1085) and it passed the Committee vote with 7 yes and 4 no votes. Thank you everyone for your help and support. It made a difference. A special thanks goes to the RMAA members who gave testimony: Maggie Moxley, Lou Garone, JoAnn Apostol, Amy Girsch, and Jeovani Gaytan. Next, our bill goes to the full House of Representatives where it is read and then voted on by each member of the House of Representatives. Our lobbyist, Lacey Hays, will be working closely with the members of the House to garnish as many votes as possible.

Our bill, HB24-1085 and known as the Limitations on Actions against Appraisers Bill, was officially introduced to the Business Affairs & Labor Committee today. Two of our bill sponsors are on this committee and one is the Chair, so we are optimistic for passing this first step in the process. We have already heard from several people that our email blasts are working. Some appraisers have even heard back from their local legislators stating they will support our bill. Stay tuned for updates on HB24-1085 progress!
